"Everything counts a little more than we think..."

Happy 11/11 day.

So much grief I’ve been given all my life for eating raw cookie dough. Yet I can’t recall an occasion in which I’ve regretted eating the cookie dough. I have often regretted, though, as I do at this particular moment, regret having more available to me.

Knives (with exception of butter knives and non-sharp dining knives) should not be left to dry, they should be immediately dried and put away to keep their sharpness.

A few months ago I learned how significantly better the Google Nexus experience is in terms of its “raw Android” OS, versus, for example, the horrible interface that is Samsung’s “Touchwiz”. Horrible. I know now not to recommend a Samsung phone unless it is a Nexus.

I had recent occasion to handle a Windows phone and also an iPhone for the same timespan/tasks, both recent though not current generation phones. The Windows phone had by far the better and more enjoyable interface. Note I did not spend a large amount of time so it’s possible that for longer use the iPhone could have the better software.. I just know the Android experience tends to be the most flexible and customizable so I could probably set up the environment to emulate some of the other OSes much more ably than then other way around, and could then pick and choose what works best for me. Anyway, this experience has made me a bit excited now for the Surface Pro. We’ll see how it goes.

My wireless headphones (that I use at home with my computer) died a few months ago.. I’ve been trying several other options and they have all failed me (e.g. my old system of an extra-long cord, and use of bluetooth receivers and bluetooth headphones); I’m reluctant to repurchase the wireless headphones I had (the receiver is fine, just one of the ears is no longer producing sound) but seems I must do so.

I love my Kindle Paperwhite, btw, more than I was expecting to. Backlight is surprisingly handy. And it’s still way better and not remotely the same as reading on an LCD screen.

An article/post online without a posting date is worthless.

I am having a puppy of a time deciding between Transformer Infinity, Nexus 10, and also possibly Amazon Fire 8.9. #firstworldproblems Ah. There we go—an eliminating factor: one uses a proprietary connector rather than microusb for charging. Aw sad. But a nicely simple eliminator.
