Things I don't get about Riddick

slated in consumed at 09:56 PM

spoilers spoilers! on both Riddick and Pitch Black:

I think the movie is based off a comic or something, right?
Now first: in the previous film, Pitch Black.. at the end, there was apparently big controversey… huge debate and uncertainty as to whether Riddick sacrificed her to save himself or not. Did he say “not for me” to mean, “i didn’t kill you to save only myself”, or was it, “i should have died instead—you shouldn’t die for me” ? i forget what i was so certain of the first time around. right now i think i’m pretty sure he didn’t kill her.

Anyway, on to Chronicles of Riddick....

  • that woman.. the wife of the captain-guy… she’s just allowed to be there? he’s the only one with a wife? if she’s so ambitious, why din’t she get with the major to begin with?
  • how did Jack get to be so damn cool?
  • what was with the souped-up dogs being dropped on the prisoners for “feeding time”? just for sport? they do this once a week?
  • where in the universe did Jack get those hot pants, and how did * she get to keep them for so long in a prison like that?
  • why’d the other furion just kill himself?
  • why didn’t the other captain guy finish Riddick off?
  • if major was so scared of Riddick, why did he take him on one-on-one?
  • Riddick was dangling at the end of that chain hung down into the prison, and he totally flipped himself about and got himself out. No questions, just rewind and play.
  • why was Jack the only one who couldn’t clear the mountain for shade, when she seemed so much more agile than the rest of them besides?
  • what was with the (Elemental’s) narration about how you need a different kind of evil to fight evil?? She was talking about Riddick… Riddick didn’t do a single thing evil-like in the whole two movies!! he was a bit cold. he was certainly a killer. but not whimsically and not just for fun and not to the completely undeserving or unthreatening. so what’s with the ‘evil’ nonsense??
  • are there furion women?
  • am i spelling furion correctly?
  • when’s the sequel?

Comments on Things I don't get about Riddick

LongshotX

Your comments are dumb as hell. This is a movie. If you consistently watch a movie just to over analyze it, of course you won't have an enjoyable experience. Anyway Riddick is not evil as you said,; but when the Elemental said you need a different kind of evil she is speaking of basically an Anti-Hero. And the thing with Riddick when he winded himself up the chain is very possible if you have tremendous upper body, lower body, and core strength. Haven't you ever been to the circus? They do this all the time. You sir are a moron. Get a life.

Wow. My first hate-comment. Thanks...

  • I over-analyze a lot of things unnecessarily.. But with the movie Riddick, I was simply enjoying a fun movie and throwing out my thoughts immediately thereafter, never to dwell upon them or even remember them until now.
  • Won't have an enjoyable experience? I had so much fun watching this movie! Was that not apparent in my ramblings? I'll be happy and excited when they announce the next one.
  • I'm skeptical of the "evil" label to begin with, and I found Riddick to be surprisingly noble, though certainly unconventional. I understood what the Elemental meant but I suppose I commented because I was uncomfortable with the word choice.
  • The thing when Riddick wound himself up the chain was way cool. I said nothing to the tune of skepticism or disdain; it was one of the funnest scenes in the whole movie... looked very cool.. Actually no, I don't think I have been to the circus. But yes, there are some impressively strong persons out there who can do incredible things. Like I said, it was a very cool scene. I had been afraid to come across much too excited about it when I first mentioned it in the post. Apparently quite the contrary.

'Took my ramble a bit overseriously, neh? My interpretation of you, sir/maam, is that you are either a big fan of the movie and thought I was dogging it (amusing... everyone else tells me I liked this movie far more than it deserves), or that... you were just in a grumpy mood and don't appreciate unimportant rambles about things like movies. ...

@longshot – yeah so if you feel like commenting the least you could do is allow rebuttal. Unless you’re scared of losing the argument.

@alicson – didn’t know you were such a fan of Riddick. I may have to check this movie out. :)

i think furions are like the opposite of the bad evil guys… there more like the balance of the universe. So they must be peaceful and strong like Riddick, but with out the eyes becuase riddick got those eyes in the slam for some surgery.
