A couple of weeks ago, a friend was looking at getting a new monitor, which prompted me to look at monitors for myself too…
Sylvia, my 20” Samsung Syncmaster 204t has been absolutely fantastic, but the built-in screen on Danium, my Toshiba Satellite M40 (otherwise a fine machine) is very, very dim especially compared to Sylvia, and bringing up the brightness reasonably to the level I currently have it at, not only remains unpreferably dim, but also washes out the colors.
So while the additional screen space is great and I can keep my menu bar and winamp and a couple other things sitting over there most of the time, it still doesn’t feel like enough, with Sylvia handling all the look-at-worthy stuff all on one screen.
I meant to watch Studio 60 (great show); I’m not sure why I ended up watching The Nine instead.
Actually quite a good show.. sort of like Prison Break only… much more accessible and more personal, and less intense in the any-moment-now- someone-might-get-knifed -or-shot -or-lose-a-hand -or-otherwise-die.
It’s about bonds. The bonds you form with other individuals, and how they transcend everything.
The boys in The Last Kiss were simple and sad, but their characters were not remotely as ugly as I’ve seen.
Idiots make mistakes. It’s a whole other kind of animal who consciously and repeatedly betrays good and love.
‘Recently advised a new show as my background noise as I work.. House has been encouraged to me by several others before.. Finally started it today.
I guess this is now a periodic thing I do… It’s thoroughly useful every time I end up having to reinstall or something goes wrong with the app or I want to recommend some extensions to friends.
So here, my current list of Firefox web browser and Thunderbird email client extensions:
Watched the Julia Macnamara episode (season 2, ep. 12) of Nip Tuck today.. it’s actually the first episode I had ever seen of Nip Tuck, many many months ago.. probably chanced upon it on TV. I think it’s one of the best episodes.
I don’t feel like writing a lot about it/the show.. It’s a good show, but it’s not a really positive or helpful show, though it’s well-blunt. I have lots of thoughts on it though… on the show.. on the episode.. on Julia and the other characters.
The overview of this episode is that it’s Julia finally recognizing (at least subconsciously.. don’t know what she’ll end up really doing with herself) her own responsibility for her reality. —That’s not to say that she has the perfect husband or most supportive mother/friends/etc… but like most people, she’s underestimated her own role in her life.. her own influence on both herself and on the people around her.

Song of the day:
The Spill Canvas – The Tide Heaven’s not a place that you go when you die — it’s that moment in life when you actually feel alive..
Excellent song.. been a while since I’ve heard it.. grabbed me easily again when it came up on random; first time I fully paid attention to it.. Listen to the whole story!
My mother went out to visit a friend in California last week.. She came back with lots of new things.. and introduced me to a new very good friend…
