Hem - Leave Me Here

I should wake up this town — my heart’s on fire.
Main road and no one’s around as the flames climb higher.
I have been here before and I know the way,
but love seemed sweeter and sure in the light of day, in the light of day.

So as I rise, I will reach for the livin’ ..I’ll say no prayer
As tonight he brought me to heaven and left me here.

I could tell by his face — those two tired eyes — it’s been a long night searching for grace, and the sun won’t rise.
Now I have been here before, though I know I am lost.
‘Cause the same place that filled me with joy is a road I crossed, just a road I crossed.

… So as I rise, I will reach for the livin’… I’ll say no prayer.. cuz tonight love feels nothing like heaven, to leave me here.

  1. berto
good song, good band. I like their quietness and stuff. How’d you find out about them? I always wonder if I told you about it or if you found the same random band I found in a similarly random fashion.

It’s youisi as they say in China.

  2. same same but different? you made me look that up.

it is a good song. i’m not sure if i picked it up from you or elsewhere. i don’t mind.

i’m glad we either find the same good music, or we like each other’s findings. ...except for those times we don’t. some of my stuff’s a bit too zany or rap for you and some of your stuff is a bit heavy or 80s-pop-metal for me.

    ... but yes, it’s a good song. :)
