evil is charming and beautiful

Lilly: Evil?

Helen: No.. I don’t… I don’t really use that word..

Lilly: Well you might want to think about starting. Cuz it’s out there.

Helen: Well evil’s all ugly and firebreathing. She isn’t that way.

Lilly: Are you kidding? Evil is charming and beautiful. It asks for one small compromise after another until it whittles you down. And it functions best when no one believes in it.

This is a quote of Mary Girardi, (ex-)Sister Lilly from Joan of Arcadia, season 2, episode 15. Posted at 10:08am on 10 September 2006.
