The Caps vs. Flyers game

Went to my first hocky game ever..
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a serious chunk of hockey even on TV before.

My general expectations of impressions going in were all on base — it’s a pretty engaging, well-paced, high-contact game at which I cringe, gasp, and frequently want to scold the big men for being mean to each other.

I had a great time. It was a playoffs game, so the crowd was pretty excited; I had excellent seats and good company — my mom’s a hilarious crazy lady when watching sports games, and she was totally endearing, sporting a red hair band and constantly banging two red balloon noise-makers, always yelling at the players to “shoot it! shoot!!” and “steal the ball”, no matter how many times I reminded her “puck”.
— And the Caps won (yay!), which is generally a helpful element for a good time. :)

Hope the Caps can hold on for at least a few more games, but I’ll certainly look to be at once of their games next season.
