Danium's ailment

slated in moments at 8:55 pm

Danium (Toshiba Satellite M40) went into the doctor’s office yesterday, finally, after sitting on my desk for the past few months, unused…

He’d been shutting down spontaneously and autonomously (not cool).
The symptoms made me think overheating, but it didn’t feel hot — not like BBB used to get… who is also, btw, finally undergoing operations, since I got together all the necessary organs/parts for transplant, and made hour drive to the computer hospital. BBB (Toshiba Satellite 5205-s703) is getting two new hinges (which is what finally forced me to leave him.. :-/ that was 2005…), a new C-Pad, new harddrive, and probably a new DVD-RW. BBB still has the most brilliant screen of any laptop I’ve seen (15” UXGA 1200×1600, in case you didn’t read about me raving about it before).

I haven’t missed Danium as much as I should have because Logos (my first desktop since 2001) has been running strong.

Oh, so my point was.. Danium’s ailment turns out to be overheating after all… Ton of dust jammed in the fan.. I’m a bad mom for not paying more attention to that and checking it on my own…

Gonna go get a bunch of cans of compressed air this week and overuse them from now on (besides, keeping my window open all the time now has allowed this incredible (awful) layer of yellow pollen to waft over everything on my desk, every day.. I can see and feel it on my keyboard.. and I can see it much more brightly when I take a wet cloth to it… Can only imagine what it looks like inside Logos/under the keys in my keyboard right now… ::feels squeamish about it:: Definitely gonna go at it with the compressed air this weekend.
