Early this morning on 107.3 FM (I only ever hear the radio on occasional instances while driving) there was a hearty discussion about Soul Mates. Do they exist? How do we feel about the idea? Etc..
It was kind of a “I absolutely do not believe in soul mates, because…” versus “Well, I think there are soul mates -- more than one, though.. because…”
Today does feel like a Thursday..
Pretty good day so far.. Morning was a little weird and hectic with the waking up early and getting things done but then insisting on napping a bit more and then waking a dozen times before I had to, thinking I had WAY overslept each time, so being quite disoriented by the end of it.. But woke up in time, had an unhealthy breakfast (couldn’t be helped… there was no aluminum foil), made it to my appointment, and afterward ran a bunch of necessary and overdue errands, and also did a quick robust grocery shopping trip (wherein I restocked the aluminum foil, and also picked up a healthy supply of Edy’s ice cream).
On a side note (well, they’re all kind of side notes), I saw my first Hybrid Camry today.. noticed it by the new rear lights on a hybrid-style faintest green color.. Kinda pretty.
Okeydokey, back to work for me.
I finally revisited 1haiku and gave it some actual attention, after completely neglecting it and mostly forgetting about it for over a year.

Did you know there’s a new Star Trek movie in production? I did not.
Apparently J.J. Abrams (a la Lost and Alias) will be directing the upcoming Star Trek XI.

How is it 3:00 already??
Brief notes to myself:
I finally signed up for the Textdrive Mixed Grill offer, so I’ll get so really see what the whole of Joyent is about. Strongspace will be especially useful for my Dad.. that’ll be good.
Been away from the computer a fair bit today… eyes are tired of the screen. Will be back on a lot tomorrow though—can’t be helped; much work to get done on deadline.
Did four and a half (delicates don’t take up a full load) loads of laundry today… laundry, with all the steps involved (sorting, loading, transfer to dryer, fold, put away) takes a lot of time.
Went for a walk around the lake with dad—his first walk around the lake since he broke his knee a couple of months ago. The scar is still terrible, but he’s getting better and better.
Why am I still up?
Oh right.. trying to be productive..
Was mostly good today… but bedtime now so more productivity achievable tomorrow. Yay…
Jamie Cullum’s ‘Catch the Sun’ is good but I don’t like the way the chorus goes… maybe it’d be better live? the rest of it is nice (though I disagree with the sentiment).
I found the hidden jar of basil seeds today :)
Watched the Julia Macnamara episode (season 2, ep. 12) of Nip Tuck today.. it’s actually the first episode I had ever seen of Nip Tuck, many many months ago.. probably chanced upon it on TV. I think it’s one of the best episodes.
I don’t feel like writing a lot about it/the show.. It’s a good show, but it’s not a really positive or helpful show, though it’s well-blunt. I have lots of thoughts on it though… on the show.. on the episode.. on Julia and the other characters.
The overview of this episode is that it’s Julia finally recognizing (at least subconsciously.. don’t know what she’ll end up really doing with herself) her own responsibility for her reality. —That’s not to say that she has the perfect husband or most supportive mother/friends/etc… but like most people, she’s underestimated her own role in her life.. her own influence on both herself and on the people around her.
