New colored labels

New colored labels in gmail are happy

Octocake

So I’m talking with my friend online and he has to go check on his cake that’s baking since his family bought him an octopus cake pan for his birthday. I’m offhandedly thinking this is some kind of gourmet pan I’m unfamiliar with, or maybe a general mold of an octopus, but I’m envisioning something that’s very much like a bundt cake pan.

Then he sends this picture:

I want to eat it
and make cute noises of adoration at it
at the same time.
Gosh it’s so darn cute.
I never knew I had a soft spot for octopus cakes. But there it is…

I’m not really crazy/angry this morning

I think I’m actually in a pretty good mood today, and my generally amicable self.. Perhaps just a little variably-strung from the usual sleep-deprivation and unquiet head.

But I really am grumpy about the calendar.

Give me my @&$* book!

I’m going to kill something.

It’s December. I should have a 2008 calendar by now.

My 2007 calendar has been the excellent French Ornate Vert (green!) mini horizontal dayplanner that I’ve been very very happy with this year. Now I need the 2008. They (the general world/stores/internet search/shopping/places to buy things like 2008 calendars) have the green, but I already have the green. They have the blue in vertical, but I don’t bloody want the bloody vertical. GAH.

Textpattern upgrades

Upgraded Textpattern Resources, Ferrydust to Textpattern SVN of 4.0.5.

Performing organizational upgrades and will work on cleanup on Textpattern Resources — long overdue. If someone wants to help with the cleanup (“archiving” old plugins/articles, fixing broken links, retrieving and housing old plugins to the server directly sot hat people can actually access them because original authors’ sites are dead), please drop me a line.

…several hours later ~8:pm
…. found out the hard way that latest SVN version has a particularly painful glitch in which individual articles were not showing at all. Rolled back to an official release (from September) of 4.0.5 and all is well again.
5:50am ~ there’s either a glitch with the txp:hide tag or with the latest SVN version of Textpattern in blocking/omitting articles from displaying on individual article pages. I’ll figure it out tomorrow… Meanwhile, have rolled both back (to September version and trusty txp:anc_hide) so all should be working well…

Cowon D2 Review - highly recommended

Would definitely make a solid xmas gift to yourself or someone you like/love

Have had my Cowon/iAudio D2 mp3/media flash player for a few days.. wanted to post a review the first night.. putting aside this pocket of time to do it.

Mine’s black. Comes in white and red, too, I believe.
Mine’s 4gb. Comes in 2gb and 8gb also. I reasoned that I would get the 4gb and then collect 4gb SD cards. That’s working out really nicely.

Plenty of pictures, spec-sheets, hands-on reviews, youtube reviews on the ‘nets, so I’ll just throw my own opinion/experience in..
